  Effective July 1, 2004, the Real Estate Law changed as follows:
  • Individuals can apply for the salesperson examination before completing Real Estate Principles. For more information, see Real Estate Salesperson License and Additional Requirements for Salespersons Issued Conditional Licenses.
    
  • Individuals may submit fingerprints after applying for but before passing the salesperson or broker examination. For more information, see Fingerprint Requirements.
    
  • Common Interest Developments was added to the list of optional courses needed to meet education requirements. For more information, see Real Estate Salesperson License or Real Estate Broker License.

  Governor Schwarzenegger has declared Friday, June 11, 2004 to be a Day of Remembrance in honor of the extraordinary life and legacy of President Reagan. Many State of California agencies and offices will be closed, however, essential services will still be provided. Department of Real Estate offices will be closed, but due to the suddenness of the situation, real estate examinations scheduled for June 11, 2004 will be conducted as planned.
