Emergency Notification

DRE Emergency Activation

DRE Emergency Plans may be activated by the Real Estate Commissioner or Chief Deputy Commissioner. They, in turn, will advise their respective managers and supervisors who will immediately contact employees. To accomplish this expeditiously, a telephone fan out chart has been developed and distributed. DRE employees have access to a toll free number (866-342-8885) to obtain current information regarding the emergency.

Delegation of Emergency Authorities

In the event of a disaster, outage, or potential incident, the Real Estate Commissioner will make the administrative decision on the course of action to insure the safety of the employees, the public, and to protect the assets of the Department. In the event that the Real Estate Commissioner is unavailable, this responsibility is delegated to the Chief Deputy Commissioner. If both the Real Estate Commissioner and the Chief Deputy Commissioner are unavailable, the authority to manage emergency operations rests with the Assistant Commissioner of Enforcement while the operation of the Disaster Response Team is the responsibility of the Assistant Commissioner, Administration.
